St Augustine's is the parish church serving the community of Thorpe Bay in Southend. We are part of the Church of England, and value the richness of the traditions that brings.  Everyone is welcome at St Augustine's and we would love to welcome you to a service soon.

Christenings

We love to welcome families of any shape or size to bring their children to be Christened.  Christening or Baptism is the beginning of a life-long journey with God.   

Weddings

St Augustine's church is a very special place for you and your fiance to get married.  It sets the scene perfectly, inside and out.

 

Funerals

We are always pleased to help families at times of bereavement.  You do not have to come to church to have your funeral at St Augustine's.

Sunday Worship 

8.00am: Holy Communion (BCP)

10.00am: Parish Communion

6:30pm: Evensong

 

During the Week

Wednesday: 10:00am – Holy Communion

 

Morning Prayer:  Monday to Thursday at 8:30am

Evening Prayer:  Monday  to Thursday  at 5:00pm

Safeguarding

The parish of Thorpe Bay: St Augustine is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults.  We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Chelmsford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs.  If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA.  If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
